For Walkers, The Weekend is an experience that begins the day you register
to participate. This is when you will receive your very own web page and have access to all
the tools available in your participant centre. This is when you’ll set your fundraising goal, begin preparing for the physical challenge, and become a
true part of our Weekend Family.
As a member of this family, you’ll be an important advocate for as you raise money and spread awareness of the important work they are doing for all women. You’ll also have many opportunities to meet and network with other walkers when you attend Training Walks, Foot Clinics, Pink Martini Nights, and much more!
Your dedication in the weeks and months leading up to event Weekend will culminate in our
2-Day celebration and 60km walk on
Day One (Saturday)
The energy and enthusiasm build on Saturday morning as Walkers gather on centerfield at Rogers Centre for check-in, enjoy a continental breakfast, and warm-up with stretching before the inspirational Opening Ceremonies. During Ceremonies, we’ll commemorate those who have lost their battle to cancer and celebrate the lives being saved due to your participation.
The walk then begins as you and hundreds thousands of others proudly tread out of the stadium, approximately 32km, through some of the most beautiful and iconic areas of Toronto. Along the way, you’ll be fully supported with pit stops, snacks, hydration stations, catered lunch, cheering crowds, and staff to ensure your safety.
Saturday’s walk winds down upon arrival at camp where you’ll be welcomed home like a champ by cheering crowds in the stadium. But the fun doesn’t end there! You will enjoy a relaxing, professional massage, a delicious catered dinner, and lots of TLC. Plus, you’ll enjoy entertainment including live music and other exciting surprises. For 2-Day walkers who choose to spend the night (and we really think you should), a lavish camp awaits on Rogers centerfield equipped with hot showers (We even provide hair dryers and pampering products!) and 2-person tents provided by yours truly. This not your typical camping experience!
Day Two (Sunday)
After a delicious hot breakfast, you will enjoy another day of approximately 28km and receive the same support as you experienced on Day One. When you proudly cross the finish line, you will be amazed by the hero’s welcome you receive from cheering friends, family, and the community, who all showed up for YOU to celebrate your amazing achievement. The Weekend culminates with an overwhelming feeling of hope, accomplishment, and a renewed sense of humanity as we join forces to honour, express gratitude, and celebrate your tremendous triumph towards ending all women’s cancers once and for all.
