Every Step Brings Us Closer to the End of Women's Cancers

Let's Help Find A Cure

Hi, my name is Nicole Hippe and I'm a breast cancer survivor. In October of 2000 I married a wonderful man, Dan Hippe. We were so excited to start our life together as a couple. The first real test of our marriage came in April of 2001. Just 6 months after we were married I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Being just 29 and having no history at all of this disease in my family, this completely came out of left field. The next 3 months were a whirlwind of meeting with doctors, surgeries and finally planning of my reconstruction. I received great care from the staff at the Foothills Hospital Brest Health Center. The team I was given was amazing. I am happy to say that this July will be 11 years in remission. Dan and I now have a 9 year old and a soon to be 4.5 year old. I am here today because of advancements in research and care, and the wonderful support from my husband Dan, my family and the amazing friends we have. I am also hear because of people like you and your generous donations to help fight against women's cancers.

This will be my third year walking and I can definitely tell you that the support I have been given from everyone has been amassing. The walk itself is the least I can do for the cause. Thank you for taking the time to visit this page and I look forward to your support.

The Weekend to End Women's Cancer is a two-day, 60-kilometer walk through the neighborhoods of Calgary on July 21-22.

Proceeds benefit the Alberta Cancer Foundation, funding important breast cancer research, education, services and care.
