I remember it like it was yesterday

Nine years ago, right before her 40th birthday, my mother was diagnosed with stage-4 breast cancer. Having 3 young children, a husband that could not stand to lose her, and many family & friends that supported her, my mother fought long and hard to overcome the cancer and she did. From that point on, my mom vowed to live her life to the fullest and enjoy each and every single moment.

In February of 2011, we learned that the cancer returned, but this time had spread throughout her lungs and bones. We have spent countless nights in the hospital and lie awake night after night, praying that she will beat the cancer once again. Watching as my mom suffers from this dreaded illness hurts so much and knowing that no matter how much we try, there is nothing we can do to help. My family and I feel so helpless

As I write this, I am finding it hard to fight back the tears. The doctors informed us this past week that there is no cure for my mom and no additional treatments remain. The cancer is becoming more and more aggressive and is spreading rapidly throughout the rest of her body. The only thing left for her to do is go home and enjoy the rest of her life one moment at a time.

Although the time remaining with my mom is unknown, I know I will make every moment count. On August 25th & 26th, I will once again participate in the Pharmaprix 2-day, 60km Weekend to End Women?s Cancer Walk in honour of my mother and all women battling cancer, but I need your help. My commitment is to raise $2000 and I need your support!

Every little bit counts and can go a long way in helping to find a cure for cancer. Although it may be too late for my mom, with your help we can make a difference for the future!

My mother is a strong, loving, determined, and compassionate woman whom I am extremely proud of. She has raised me to be the woman I am today and I will forever be thankful for that.

I love you mom.

Thank you all for the encouragement & support.

This is my journey.

This is my Weekend to end cancer...
