My dear friends,

This year I have joined the Pharmaprix(MD) Weekend to End Women's Cancers and I will complete a  two-day, 60-kilometre walk through the neighborhoods of Montreal. It will be a challenge and I am ready to take on this endeavor to find a cure to breast and gynecologic cancers!

My commitment is based on love and my realization that we each need to do our part in this fight. I can walk. I can raise funds to benefit the Segal Cancer Centre at the Jewish General Hospital, a leader in the fight against all women's cancers. I can and choose to be a part of this movement to save lives.

Among Canadian women, breast cancer continues to be the most frequently diagnosed cancer with as many as 23,200 new cases diagnosed in 2010, more than twice as many as lung cancer. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer mortality among women, and is expected to take the lives of 5,400 Canadian women in 2010.

I sincerely believe that together we can find a cure and put an end to this terrible disease that touches so many of our loved ones.
