Weekend to find a Cure

The Weekend to End Breast Cancer is a two-day, 60-kilometre walk through the neighborhoods of Toronto taking place September 7-9th, 2007. The proceeds will benefit Princess Margaret Hospital, funding important breast cancer research, education, services, and care.

This will be my fifth year participating in this event and it began as a tribute to the strength of my grandmother who was battling and eventually conquered breast cancer.

Sadly, she would lose her battle with lung cancer, and now I walk in loving memory of the light that went out on April 13th, 2007.

I am walking alongside my amazing mother, who taught me that you should stand firmly behind everything you believe in and be prepared to go the distance. I am walking to honor all the women who have fought and continue to fight this disease. I am walking.. because I can.
