Friends and Family,
My Mom is a 15 year survivor, and I've luckily been screened for the genetic mutation in our family and been found clear, but that means my chances are still 1 in 10, general population risk.
This will be my 8th walk, the saddest moment was walking in the rain in 2008 with a girl who was the best friend of a 30 year old new mom of two, who passed away from this terrible disease when her new baby was just a few months old. At least 20% of the 5000 walkers are survivors, and so young!
On the bright side, the support we get from the homes we walk by is incredible and very appreciated, you give us the energy to go on, thanks!
We are doing this to find the cure in our lifetime!
