Hello everyone, thank you for visiting my personal page.  I plan to walk in the Weekend to End Women's Cancers this year in order to help raise money for cancer research. 

As you may know, I had my own close brush with skin cancer this past December.  Even knowing that skin cancer is typically one of the 'curable' cancers, it was still a really scary experience. The feeling of just thinking you might have cancer is overwhelming.  I was fortunate, my wait to see specialist was only a month and with the tools he had available right there in his office, he was able to reassure me that in all liklihood the growth on my eyelid was probably not cancerous.  Although I have to have it monitored annually, I know I am very lucky and I am so thankful. 

This experience was a wake up call for me and has given me a small glimpse into the importance of having access to the health care professionals and procedures that can provide a diagnosis quickly and ensure people receive the care they need to win the fight against cancer.
