Donate to my journey and make this Weekend matter!

The Shoppers Drug Mart® Weekend to End Women’s Cancers™ is a 2-day, 60-kilometre or 1-day 32-kilometre walk through the neighbourhoods of Toronto. It’s going to be a challenge, but I’m ready to do something bold and powerful in effort to end women’s cancers once and for all.

My commitment is based on love for my fellow sisters, mothers, grandmas, daughters, nieces, and friends everywhere. It’s based on the realization that we each need to do our part in this fight. I can walk. I can raise funds to benefit the The Campbell Family Institute at The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre – a leader in the fight against all women's cancers. I can and choose to be a part of this movement to take down women’s cancers!

I ask you to take a stance with me and join this life-saving adventure for all women. Be a part of my very personal journey - by giving, by walking with me, or simply by sharing my story with your circle of influence. Don’t stand back and think about what you could have done – take that first step today! Take a chance with me – we have the opportunity to change thousands of lives, beginning with our own.

This isn’t just my journey – it’s yours, too.
Make it a Weekend you’ll never forget.

 My personal Story:

When I was five years old, my mum frequently felt uncomfortable with some unusual pain.  After series medical examines, the doctor was doubt that she had carcinoma of gallbladder and advised mum to have an immediate surgery to make a definite diagnosis. If there was a miracle, she might have 10% chance to survive or she might not be able to celebrate my next birthday with me.

The veteran surgeon made an exception to allow me visiting my mum the day before her surgery as he thought my visiting might be a miracle cure. (Children under twelve years old were not allowed to enter ICU.)  I remembered so clearly mum was too sick to pick me up. Dad put me in her arm and she held me so tightly that I could not even breathe. She was trying to smile while she was talking to me. But I knew she was checking the sobs with an immense effort as her tears dropped to my face ……

Fortunately miracle happened to us, my mum did survive and celebrated many birthdays with me after her surgery.

But miracle may not happen to everyone.  I wish all mothers could celebrate their children’s birthday very year.

For that reason On September 7-8, 2013, I'll be participating in a very special event called Shoppers Drug Mart® Weekend to End Women's Cancers(TM) Benefiting The Campbell Family Cancer Research Institute at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre .

I'll walk approximately 60 kilometres in two days with thousands of other women and men. The proceeds will support breast and gynecologic cancers research, treatment, and services.

I've committed to raising at least $2,000. So I need your help. Please help me by making a donation? Use the link at the bottom of this email to visit my site and make an online donation to support me. Please keep in mind how far I'm walking - and how hard I'll have to train.
