The Peaceful Pacers -A Decade of Hope
The Peaceful Pacers -A Decade of Hope

Twelve  years ago, I stood on  stage and shared my cancer story at the CNE during the closing ceremonies for the Weekend to End Breast Cancer. I shared how I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and breast cancer during my first year of marriage at the age of 32, and how grateful I was for having received excellent care from my incredible doctors at The Princess Margaret Hospital. Eleven years later, I am so proud to share that I not only have survived, but I have thrived! Over the past decade, I have participated in all the "Weekends" in Toronto, I have volunteered for the hospital, and I have run a number of half-marathons benefiting the Princess Margaret. In addition, my team, The Peaceful Pacers, has raised over $275,000 for the cause since the beginning and this past February, my team was honoured in the Globe and Mail.  My greatest moment though over the past decade happened at 5:48 a.m. on December 8, 2007. This was the moment when HOPE won and I became a mom to my beautiful son, Daniel. This is why I am walking again for an eleventh  time! Thank you Princess Margaret for all that you have done for me and for all those touched by cancer. We are forever grateful!

Thanks for visiting my personal page and together we can all look forward to the day when cancer is no longer a threat to those we love.
