This will be my 11th year walking in Toronto and by Sept, it will be my 20th Weekend to End Women's Cancer Event! WOW! Thank you SOOOO much for continuing to support me! My team, The Super Boobie Fairies thanks you too!
The 2013 Weeekend to End Womens Cancers was a very powerful one for me; I really had thought it was going to be my last walk. My life is busy and September is always crazy! My fundraising was slow last year and I thought I needed a break.
Then something started to happen ... suddenly I was exposed to some very positive feedback from MY efforts, I received a fabulous picture of a friend during one of her treatments at PMCC, my fundraising picked and re-reg was ONLY $10!!! I thought, what the heck!
I am SOOOO glad I decided to do it! At Closing Ceremonies one of the Walkers spoke. She reminded me of exactly WHY i do this.
She is 28 yrs old and a breast cancer survivor. 28! She spoke very passionately about her Father's fight with breast cancer, her diagnosis and her treatment (she is doing wonderfully well!!) but what hit me hard was her stats on breast cancer. More younger women are being diagnosed and when they are, their cancer and therefore their treatments, are more agressive.
Then Dr. Tak Mak spoke; he is one of the leading researchers at PMCC. He spoke of hope and how much progress has been made in the past 10 yrs and how hopeful they are for the future!
I am asking you to do 2 things this year : PLEASE donate to support the Weekend to End Womens Cancers and when you do, PLEASE check the box to receive undates from Princess Margaret. And if they have an Open House for supports - GO! Its a great experience!
The Weekend to End Women's Cancers is a two-day, 60-kilometre walk through the neighbourhoods of Toronto. Proceeds from The Weekend benefit Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in both areas of Research and Treatment. Thank You for continuing to support this very worthy cause. Your donation goes directly to PMH.
Your donation will help save some-ones life TODAY.
Thank You ! Without YOU, I could not do this!
