I did it - walked 60 km in 2012 and survived cancer!
Donate to my journey and make this Weekend matter!
I will be making the 2-day, 60-kilometre walk through the neighbourhoods of Toronto in September for The Shoppers Drug Mart® Weekend to End Women’s Cancers™.
I will be walking as a cancer survivor and am pleased to be walking with my good friend, Susan. Although I won my fight with cancer, that fight and the death of my girlfriend Mary-Jane highlighted for me that there are a great many women's cancers for which there is no cure or effective treatment. Support of donors such as yourself is slowly changing this and giving many renewed hope in their personal battles. We can do more. With your support, we can win this battle.
Our team name "Two-cans" reminds us:
1. that we are proud and grateful to be Canadian;
2. of the amazing things there are to experience in life, including the toucan birds that Susan and I saw in Bolivia; and
3. although one person can make a difference, two are twice as strong - a friend to lean on in times of trouble and to celebrate with when times are good!
I ask you to take a stance with me and join this life-saving adventure for all women. Be a part of my very personal journey - by giving, by walking with me, or simply by sharing my story with your circle of influence. Don’t stand back and think about what you could have done – take that first step today! Take a chance with me – we have the opportunity to change thousands of lives, beginning with our own.
This isn’t just my journey – it’s yours, too.
Make it a Weekend we’ll never forget.
