The Shoppers Drug Mart® Weekend
to End Women’s Cancers™ is a 2-day, 60-kilometre or 1-day 32-kilometre walk
through the neighbourhoods of Toronto. It’s going to be a challenge, but I’m
ready to do something bold and powerful in an effort to end women’s cancers
once and for all.
As a twice over cancer survivor, I know firsthand how difficult a
road lies ahead when battling this deadly disease. I was raised by strong
parents that never gave up. I believe I get my strength from them. My mother
Edna and brother Robert both died from lung cancer. My mother's lost her
father, brothers and a sister to cancer. We have a long history of cancer in
Sometimes I feel survivors guilt, as I think of family and friends
that were diagnosed and lost their battle to cancer. I was lucky to have caught
mine in time and through the dedicated doctors and staff at Toronto General and
Princess Margaret hospitals I received the
care and support I needed to recover.
I am almost 3 years cancer free and I felt it was time to give
something back. To this endeavor I have registered for this walk to end cancer.
I am walking for my mom; my brother; my uncles, my aunts; my sister in law
Margie a survivor; my friends Joe, Lynn both
survivors; my friends who lost
their battle Donna, Carol, Keith, Skip, and so many more.
I am walking because I am cancer free and can. Please support me.
This isn't about 1 persons journey, but rather a battle that can be fought and
won with your support.
just my journey – it’s yours, too.
Make it a Weekend you’ll never forget.
