Hi everyone. Please accept my gratitude for visiting my page, and to donate to the Shoppers Drug Mart® Weekend to End Women’s Cancers™. Your participation will help to bring an end to Women's cancers.

At the age of 39, I was diagnosed with a fast growing form of cancer - Her-2 Neu breast cancer. The most difficult issue I had to deal with was that I possibly wouldn't get to enjoy my family and friends well into old age. I took for granted that I would see my young children grow up, get married, that my loving husband and I would be grandparents. Now I was faced with the prospect of my children not even remembering me. However, as most of my family will agree, I am fairly stubborn, so I opted for the most aggressive approach of treatment available to me. I had surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. It wasn't easy but at least I felt I had some control in my fight. Giving up is never an option.

Today I am a 13 year survivor, my husband is still my piller of strength and my kids have grown into wonderful people.

On September 6 and 7, we will be walking the 2-day, 60-kilometre walk to benefit the Princess Margaret Cancer Center. We are a team of friends and family (my sister Janice, our friends Julie and Patricia and I am immensely proud to also have my 15 year old daughter, Kendyl) and together we make the Pinky Promise.

Margaret Mead said "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed. It is the only thing that ever has."

Join me by walking, donating or sharing my story.

Thank you.
