The Weekend to End Breast Cancer is a two-day, 60-kilometre walk through the neighbourhoods of Vancouver.

Proceeds benefit the BC Cancer Foundation, funding important breast cancer research, education, services and care.

2008 marks my tenth year since a diagnosis of breast cancer. My mom passed away after a long fight with the disease when I was in my thirties, and just over 10 years later I was in the battle of my life. I'm joining the Weekend to End Breast Cancer to help raise funds for research to find a cure, so that my precious daughter, daughter-in-law and granddaughter will never have to face the loss of a loved one or the devastating diagnosis of breast cancer themselves.

I met Anita when she joined our dragon boat crew and have watched her ongoing fight with breast cancer. She lives her life with amazing strength and dignity and I was delighted when Anita invited me to join team Livestrong for 2008.
