Support My Journey
1991, I was about 12 years old when we lost our grandfather to cancer. I didn't know what cancer was at that time, all I knew was the pain of losing someone. Just recently, my cousin's 9 year old son lost his own battle...
I do not need to experience cancer myself to realize its threat to individual and its impact to family. All I know is it could happen to anyone at anytime, young or old. It is devastating that cancer can greatly alter someone's life in an instant. It could be yours, mine or anyone close to our hearts. While we can't predict, we can plan and do something now.
The Weekend to End Breast Cancer is a two-day, 60-kilometre walk through the neighbourhoods of Vancouver. Proceeds benefit the BC Cancer Foundation, funding important breast cancer research, education, services and care.
“A good deed is never lost. He who sows courtesy, reaps friendship; he who plants kindness, gathers love; pleasure bestowed on a grateful mind was never sterile, but generally gratitude begets reward.”
