Support My Journey
The Weekend to End Breast Cancer is a two-day, 60-kilometre walk through the neighbourhoods of Toronto.
Proceeds benefit Princess Margaret Hospital, funding important breast cancer research, education, services and care.
This will be my first year walking with both family and friends at "The Weekend to End Breast Cancer". I am hoping that you will be able to help support me in my walk.
It is hard to believe that in June of 2007 it will have been 15 years since my father (who was only 55) passed away from cancer. Time has passed but the memories of my father are still clear and I think of him daily. I often think of how proud he would of been of his children and of his terrific grandchildren. Unfortunately he missed out on a lot!
In June of 2006 cancer decided to come back into our lives. My mother-in-law Shari was diagnosed with breast cancer. All of the memories of what happened with my father came flooding back...not fun! My mother in law underwent a lumpectomy and the removal of the sentinel node. Then came the removal of thirteen lymph nodes. Months of chemotherapy followed with a very short time off lead to numerous radiation treaments. She is now finished and to sum it up, my mother-in-law has been a real trooper and is doing great. We are very proud of her.
Please help to support me in my fundraising efforts and hopefully one day there will be no "C" word in our vocabulary!!
Thanking you in advance!
