Shoppers Drug Mart® Weekend to End Women's Cancers? is a two-day, 60-kilometre or one-day 32-kilometre walk through the neighbourhoods of Calgary. It will be a challenge and we are ready to take on this endeavour to find a cure to breast and gynecologic cancers!

Our commitment is based on love and the realization that we each need to do our part in this fight. As a team, we will walk. We will raise funds to benefit the Alberta Cancer Foundation, a leader in the fight against all women's cancers. We will be a part of this movement to save lives.

In January of 2010, a dear friend, and co worker was diagnosed with breast cancer.  A group of us decided we wanted to do something, in her honour, and to honour all those other women in our lives who have been affected by this horrible disease.  We committed ourselves to completing the 60km Weekend To End Womens Cancers Walk.  No blisters, sun  burn, sore feet could compare to what a cancer patient must go through.  Its the least we could do.  In 2011 Guard The Girls walked again with some new members joining the team.  Our dear friend and co worker lost her courageous battle with breast cancer a year later, and passed away January 2011.  This year 2012 we will walk again. I along with my team members will walk in your name Laurel.  We love you and miss you.  As we complete our fundraising goal of $2000 a person, and complete the 60km we know you wil be watching over us, giving us the strength to achieve our goal.  xox
