The 2014 Toronto Shoppers Drug Mart Weekend to End Women's Cancers benefiting Princess Margaret Cancer Centre

T.W.I.N.S. Transforming Walking Into New Strength

TWINS are back at it!!

This profile is being updated only a few days after we completed our eighth Shoppers Drug Mart® Weekend to End Women's Cancers™. It is a 2-day, 60-kilometre walk through the neighbourhoods of Toronto. It was definitely challenging this year.  It is all about outlook and motivation (and training) when you are walking 32km in the rain.

To quote Forest Gump, we walked "through every kind of rain there is. Little bitty stingin rain... and big ole fat rain. Rain that flew in sideways. And sometimes rain even seemed to come straight up from underneath", but we’re back and ready to do something bold and powerful in an effort to end women’s cancers once and for all.

We ask you to take a stance with us and join this life-saving adventure for all people. The reason we say ALL people is because the most recent breakthrough drug CFI-40095 has been cleared by Health Canada to proceed to Phase 1 clinical trial in Canada. In the lab, the drug has been shown to inhibit the growth of human breast and ovarian cancers as well as colorectal, glioblastoma, lung, melanoma, pancreatic and prostate cancers. Please be a part of our very personal journey - by giving, by walking with us, or simply by sharing our story with your circle of influence. Don’t stand back and think about what you could have done – take that first step today! Take a chance with us – we’re going to change thousands of lives, beginning with our own.

This is OUR journey. Make it a Weekend we’ll never forget.
