Please Support My Journey
The Weekend to End Breast Cancer is a two-day, 60-kilometre walk through the neighbourhoods of Calgary. It's a walk to raise funds for breast cancer research in Alberta. I am going to be walking (or crawling) 60 kilometres on July 27-29, 2007, for a cause devoted to helping women discover breast cancer early enough to beat it and committed to finally finding a cure. As a condition of participation, I must raise at least $2,000. All proceeds benefit the Alberta Cancer Foundation, funding important breast cancer research, education, services and care.
This event means a lot to me personally, since two of my very dear friends and my husband's Aunt are breast cancer SURVIVORS. I never got to meet my husband’s Grandmother -who passed away from breast cancer 14 years ago by the age of 65 -but I know she was very special to him. Because of these lovely women, who give me inspiration every day, I will do my best in fundraising to find a cure, and walk the 60 kilometre in The Week-end to End Breast Cancer.
So, yes, this is a plea for your emotional and financial support. A dollar for every kilometre that I'll be walking would be wonderful. I thank you in advance for whatever you can give.
A little update on our Fundraising night at The Kilt & Caber Ale House on Friday may 4, 2007. We raised $1.020. Thank you again for all your support and a great night.
